Hello faithful BLOG readers!
This week my good friend, Melissa (who teaches with me) reminded me of my love for comics that relate to the subject I have a special love for...MATHEMATICS! She made a power point of a bunch of math comics and shared them with me. I am going to scan some of my favorites and add those to the file. Then I thought...I think my blog reading friends might enjoy a few as well. Here is one that I like. Check back this week for a few more!

Mountain Weekend # 2

This past weekend was another weekend away...this time to Mammoth! We stayed in a great condo only 3 minutes from the Village. The slopes were sunny and fabulous (and not as crowded as I was anticipating for President's Day weekend).
Ready for a day of boarding and skiing
(yeah...Tim was quite the brave guy to spend a weekend with 10 lovely ladies).

Dinner at Roberto's

Shanifer shot near the top (or as close to the top of the mountain we could go without hitting the black diamond runs.

Diane and I hanging inside the condo after day two of skiing/boarding.

On Sunday we went to the Worship Service at McCoy's...I have always wanted do that. Praise God that it was not too cold and we could enjoy a time of worship in HIS creation.

Our pastor for the day!

1. sorry this shot is on it's side...2. sorry this is not the most flattering shot of my arm...I just had to make sure you all had proof of my find battle wounds.

I had two main incidents plus a series of falls (pretty unavoidable when snowboarding). Incident 1...I feel on the icy sidewalk on the way to the gondola...Incident 2...I had a run in with my arm and the chairlift exit.

Another blog worthy moment was the clock as we pulled away from the condo. The plan was to leave at 9am from the condo to enjoy breakfast at Jami's favorite Mammoth spot (shown below). From the photo you can see the proof that we were rigth on schedule (which you know I love!)

The Stove was such a perfect little spot to have breakfast end a great weekend in Mammoth! Thanks everyone for a great weekend!

Colorado Fun!

This weekend I enjoyed a great weekend in Colorado with my good friends Laurie and Sam. They have a condo in the mountains that we went up to for two amazing days of skiing/snowboarding (one of each!). The weather was fabulous. I was expecting to be freezing on the slopes and instead the sun was shining which provided for a great ski weekend.
I borrowed Sam's helmet...great protection for what Sam reminded me is a "brain full of lots of math knowledge." I also discovered that the helmet keeps your eyes super warm.

Always a fun shot. We spent Saturday at Breckenridge and Sunday at Keystone.

Check out those skills!

Yeah diamonds...NOT! As Laurie said...we did like every single BLUE run in Keystone...we love those longs BLUES!

Love the Weekends!

Last week I blogged about school and this week I am going to tell you why I love the weekends so much. I love the weekends becuase I get to hangout with my friends. I love the weekends becuase there is time to do fun go to the movies, go to dinner, etc. I love weekends becuase I usually have time for fun errands...going to Target is always on the top of that list. So here is a bit of the highlights from this past weekend...

Shannon loves not so much.
On Friday night we had a Shanifer and David night out with sushi and a movie.

We had been trying to see Juno for a few weeks and finally did. The critics gave it an A- and Yahoo Movie Viewers gave it a B+...I really enjoyed it.

Sunday's main event was the Super Bowl of course! We had a Super Fun Super Bowl party at the B-ship house. This year Adam had a special surprise...the astroturf field. When I walked down into the garage I said, "How my word Adam this is AMAZING!" We had about 60 or more people at the party!

The field was complete with a 50 yard can see who the hosts were cheering for by the "NY" in the endzone.

My favorite thing to make for the super bowl party are the rice crispy treat footballs...always a big hit with the crowd.
