More Disneyland Shots

Here are some more pictures from last week's trip to Disneyland (we are acutally going back tomorrow night too...I love having a pass!).
New new Toy Story Mania and California Adventure is pretty cool!
I love having a pass because it makes us do fun things that we usally skip...like the canoes. I saw on the map that these are only open in the summer and on the weekends...who knew?!

Fun Times...

On Friday Travis and I went to Disneyland with my mom and dad. Here is a picture on Main Street. We all have passes so I am looking forward to more fun days at Disneyland!

Then on Sunday we went to the Radiohead conert at the Hollywood Bowl and had dinner at the Stinking Rose. We both love garlic and we both had never been there so we thought we should try it.

We both enjoyed our meals and even tried the garlic ice cream. I could not tast the garlic yet Travis said he could...it was a good blend of vanilla and garlic.

I loved the logo from the Stinking Rose so I had to include it in this post. It combines a nose and garlic all in one...so many layers in one photo.

There were more fun times to blog about this weekend...stay tuned until I get the pictures and then I will share with my blog audience!

The Camera Phone Comes Through

So...without the camera on Saturday night we decided to use the camera phone instead. It came through for us! This photo went from Taylor's phone (with the flash), to my phone, to Travis's phone so he could then email it from his phone to my email to the blog. That is a run on sentence yet you get the point.

Bike, Boat, and Boogie

Now that I have your attention with the title..."Bike, Boat, and Boogie" here are the details! On Saturday night Taylor, Becky, and I had such a fun night going to the Marina Del Rey concert in the park. We rode our bikes from El Segundo to the Marina... (I apologize for not having my camera...yet I found this photos online to help recreate the experience!)...

Then we took the WaterBus to the park where the conert was.

The stars of the concert were the "5th Dimension". They were more famous than we realized with famous songs including "My Girl" and "Go Where you Want to Go". It was fun to know the songs they were playing. Stephanie and Melissa joined us for the concert too.

The the big surprise for the way home was glow sticks that Taylor had in her bag for the ride home. Such a great addition to a great night!

Date Nights

This weekend Travis and I had two date nights and we each took one to plan. It was fun to (1) not know what we were going to do that night and (2) have a surprise for the other person.
On Thursday night Traivs created a backyard Hawaiian beach dinner for us! So cute...complete with surprise decorations and a soundtrack! Then we watched the surf movie "Riding Giants". It was my turn on Friday night....I called it the coupon date. We used AMC passes to see "Mamma Mia!" and then had dinner at Black Angus (yes I had a coupon!).

New Places to Eat

On Sunday night I had Korean BBQ for the first time for Joy's birthday (an OC friend!) I experienced it and those of you that know me are thinking...."Jen went to Korean BBQ???"...I know...I am pretty picky so I enjoyed the pork and rice. I didn't explore too much!

Sharkeez in Hermosa is open again and is pretty nice inside. This afternoon I rode bikes with some of my old students (Chris and Stephanie) and we had lunch there. I am excited for the upper patio to open up...it looks like it will be cool!

Oulet Women's Retreat

This weekend a bunch of the Outlet ladies went to Lake Arrowhead for a retreat weekend. We had lots of sharing, eating, and talking! Thank you to Becky, Krista, and Lacey for planning the event.
On Saturday morning we went on a hike...it took a little bit to figure out exactly where to go yet we persevered and found a good spot.

I HAVE BEEN IN MAUI!!!

If you are wondering why I did not post all week...the answer is...I have been enjoying the ALOHA LIFE in Maui. Our family and close family friends spent a week hanging out, doing excursions, having fun dinners, and much much more. Here is a sample of the almost 200 pictures that I took of the week.

One of the highlights of the week was ziplinging. You step down on one side, zip across, and then run up the exit ramp on the other side of the run. I have done (what I learned to be called zip and dip) zip lining before at Young Life camp so I had a bit of confidence in this activity.
We all got the hang of it as the day went on (there are a total of 8 runs). This is my mom concentrating on her upcoming landing (I am sure!).
This is Michelle, Christy, and I on a sunset cruise. Christy had just recovered from the not so great feeling that the boat gives her.

One of the highlights of the week was spending extra time with my parents...they are so fun...even if half the fun comes from poking fun at each other.

Here we are at the halfway point on the ATVs...wow that was a dirty experience.

My aunt was on the trip with us too...she has friends in Maui who were great "locals" to share the experience with us. On this day we made a stop on the Road to Hana.

We love getting dressed up and going out to eat!

Such a fun week...thanks mom and dad...you are the greatest!
